Dr. Courtney received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1996 and subsequently attended Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut receiving his MD in 2000. He completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and his orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Temple University in 2006. He is Board Certified and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Courtney originally hails from Keene, New Hampshire. He and his family have made Winchester, Virginia their home since 2006. He provided exceptional orthopaedic care at Winchester Medical Center from 2006 and 2010 when he was recruited by Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia to be part of their orthopaedic program. He now returns to continue to provide compassionate care to our community. His clinical interests within orthopaedics include arthroscopic surgery, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, total joint replacement and fracture care.
In his spare time Dr. Courtney enjoys spending time with his family, building his model railroad, and building scale model cars
